If I have more than $100,000 in my portfolio, but some or all of it is in a joint account, do I qualify for Wealthsimple Black status? Does the other account holder?

Deposits that have been made to a Joint account are currently attributed to the primary account owner! For example, if $50,000 in net deposits have been contributed to a Joint account, these net deposits will only be counted towards the primary account owner, and cannot be double-counted as net deposits to the secondary owner of the Joint account as well. If you only have a joint account, it means you'll need to deposit $200,000 to both qualify.

If you have any questions and/or concerns surrounding this please reach out to black@wealthsimple.com ! You can also find out more on how to calculate your overall net deposits here
