Who is eligible to enter?

To be eligible for entry you must be:

• A new or existing Wealthsimple user where an account is necessary as the condition of entry and/or claiming a Prize, with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing at the time of entry and/or at the time the Prize is awarded
• A resident of Canada (excluding Quebec)
• The age of majority, or older, in your province/territory of residence at the time of entry

Is there a limit to the number of entries I can have?

• Yes, there is a limit of one entry per entrant. You will get an entry for making a deposit or transfer of at least $500 into the following Wealthsimple account types during the contest period: Managed Investing, Stocks & ETFs, Cash or Save. Deposits into a Wealthsimple GRSP or a Wealthsimple Crypto account are excluded. For an alternative entry method, please see full contest rules below.

CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY

THE CONTEST IS INTENDED TO BE CONDUCTED ONLY IN CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC) AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE CANADIAN LAW. VOID IN WHOLE OR IN PART WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ENTRY IN THE CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).

CONTEST PERIOD: The contest period will begin at 12:01 am Eastern Time (“ET”) on April 24, 2023 and will end at 11:59 pm ET on May 5, 2023 (the “Contest Period”), after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries shall be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, the entrant must be:

• A new or existing Wealthsimple user where an account is necessary as a condition of entry and/or claiming a Prize (a “Wealthsimple User”), with all Wealthsimple accounts in good standing at the time of entry and/or at the time the Prize is awarded;
• A resident of Canada (excluding Quebec);
• The age of majority, or older, in your province/territory of residence at the time of entry; and
• Meet the entry requirements set out below

(each an “Entrant”).

If, at the time of the Winner Notification, a Winner does not have a Wealthsimple account, they will be required to open one within the prescribed time as a condition of receiving the Prize (as defined below). There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple account.

Employees, officers and directors of Wealthsimple and its partners and associate companies, and each of their advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates, and such individuals’ immediate family members and persons with whom such individuals are domiciled, are not eligible to enter or participate in the Contest. For the purposes of the Contest Rules, “immediate family” refers to the father, mother, brothers, sisters, children, husband, wife or partner of such an employee, agent and/or representative.

Wealthsimple shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Wealthsimple for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Wealthsimple reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify the entrant, should the entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. There are two methods to enter into the Contest. Limit of one (1) entry per entrant:

METHOD #1: To obtain one (1) entry via this method, eligible Entrants will need to make a deposit or transfer of at least $500 into their Wealthsimple Managed Investing, Stocks & ETFs, Cash or Save account during the Contest Period. Only single deposits and transfers of at least $500 are eligible. Customers who make a deposit or transfer of at least $500 must maintain their net deposits across their Wealthsimple accounts until the end of the Promotional Period to be eligible. Direct deposits of at least $500 received from a third party, such as an employer or the Canada Revenue Agency, are eligible. Deposits into a Wealthsimple GRSP, a Wealthsimple Crypto account, or joint accounts for which the depositor is not the primary account holder are excluded. 

METHOD #2: To obtain one (1) entry via the essay method, write your name, address, city, province or territory, postal code, telephone number, and a unique and original 100-word or more essay on “My Investing Strategy”, and mail it to “Invest Your Refund Contest” at 400-80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON, M5V 2J4. Repeated, incomplete, or incorrect entries will be void. No script, macro, robotic or other program-assisted, mechanically reproduced, bulk or mass entries are permitted.

PRIZES/DRAW: Ten (10) prizes available to be won in Canada only (excluding Quebec), each consisting of $5,000CAD to be deposited into the respective winner’s Wealthsimple account. Each Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-refundable, has no cash-surrender value, and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions. Wealthsimple reserves the right, for any reason and in its sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Prize with another prize that is of equal or greater value. Each Prize will be deposited directly into the Wealthsimple account of a selected Entrant that satisfied the requirement of this Contest (each a “Winner”).
