Overview
Use your Wealthsimple credentials to access 280+ federal and provincial Government of Canada services with Interac sign-in service. Think of it as single-sign-on for services like the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Service Canada (SC), and more — powered by Wealthsimple and Interac.
Eligibility
Interac sign-in service with Wealthsimple is available to clients who have an open managed investing account, a self-directed investing account, or a Cash account. If you don’t have a Wealthsimple account, download the app or select Get started to create your account on the web.
Set up Interac sign-in with Wealthsimple
Follow these steps to set up Interac sign-in with Wealthsimple:
- Select Sign-In Partner on the participating Government of Canada service webpage.
- Choose Wealthsimple from the list of financial institutions.
- Enter your account information and follow the steps to complete the sign in process.
You’ll be able to use the Interac sign-in service with your Wealthsimple credentials next time you access the same government service.
Do I need to switch my Interac sign in partner?
If you’re not sure if you need to switch your Interac sign-in partner, check out these common scenarios to see what you need to do to sign in.
I want to switch my sign-in partner to Wealthsimple
If you currently use another financial institution like TD or CIBC and want to use Wealthsimple, you’ll need to switch your sign-in partner before you can use your Wealthsimple as your sign-in partner.
To switch sign-in providers:
- Select Switch My Sign-In Partner at the top of the Interac sign-in service page.
- Sign in with your current sign-in partner.
- Select Wealthsimple as your new sign-in partner.
I’ve never used the Interac sign-in service before
You don't need to switch your sign-in partner. Simply select Wealthsimple on the Interac sign-in service page to get started.
Wealthsimple is my current Interac sign-in partner
You don't need to switch your sign-in partner. Simply select Wealthsimple on the Interac sign-in service page to sign in as you normally would.
Troubleshooting
Check out the information below if you need to switch sign-in providers or have trouble signing in to a government service with your Wealthsimple credentials.
If you received an error that you already have a sign-in partner credential
If you didn't switch sign-in partners before attempting to sign-in with your Wealthsimple credentials, your original sign-in partner credentials should still work. We recommend you use your original sign-in partner credentials to access government services. If you have issues with your original sign-in partner, or want to switch to Wealthsimple, you may need to contact the service provider (the CRA, for example).
If your credentials are invalid
If you can’t remember your Wealthsimple credentials you can reset your password, then try to sign in again. Make sure you’re signing in with the email and password associated with your Wealthsimple account.
“You don’t have an active Wealthsimple account” message
If you see “You don’t have an active Wealthsimple account” after attempting to sign in to a government service, you’ll have to either
- Open a Wealthsimple account if you don’t already have one, or
- Sign in to your Wealthsimple account and follow the prompts to verify your identity to complete your account set up.
