Before you send a USD wire transfer
Please consider the following before you send a wire transfer:
- You must upgrade to USD accounts before you can wire USD funds to your Wealthsimple account.
- Banks typically charge around $15 to receive and process a wire transfer which we can't reimburse.
- We won't charge you any fees when we receive your wire successfully.
- You can't send wires to our partner, TD, anymore. You must use the coordinates below to send wires.
- If you’re sending a wire transfer to yourself, continue to set up a wire transfer.
- If you're receiving a wire from a third party, you must submit additional information before you initiate a wire transfer.

Beneficiary bank: Wealthsimple Investments Inc.
Bank Address: 201 - 80 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5V 2J4
Beneficiary account name: Your full name.

If your bank asks for a SWIFT code
A SWIFT code isn't necessary for domestic USD wire transfers. You should only need a routing code or bank ID (noted above). If the institution insists on a SWIFT code, you can use ROYCCAT2. Please also include the routing code 070300001 in the memo field to ensure the wire transfer goes through successfully.
Third party wires
We can only process USD wires from a third party entity for the following account types: RRSP and RESP. If a wire from a third party is sent to any other account types, the wire will be returned and fees will apply.
USD third party wires cannot be accepted into Cash at the moment.
You must provide some information about the third party entity through a Docusign form in your Wealthsimple account or the wire could be delayed or returned. Follow the instructions below to continue.
Complete and download the Docusign form
You must complete the Docusign form associated with the desired account type before the wire is sent:
Please include as much information as possible. For example, if the wire is a gift, please include the context of the gift (e.g. “birthday gift”).
If we don't receive a valid form, we will contact you for more details. If you don't respond with a valid form within 7 business days, we'll reject your wire transfer.
If you expect to receive recurring wires from your employer, please select Employment as the reason for deposit. You won’t have to complete a new form for these incoming wires.
If you expect to receive recurring wires for any other reason, you must complete a new third party Docusign form for each wire.
Note: You must submit a new Docusign form for recurring third party wire into an RESP account.
