Each verification code is only valid for 1 minute, so this can result in a few reasons (listed below) why your inputted verification code may not be accepted.
i) You're waiting longer than 1 minute to input the verification code, so by the time you input the code, it's no longer valid.
Solution: Request a new verification code be sent (or use the new code provided by your app) and make sure you beat the timer!
ii) If you use the app - We rely on an accurate phone clock time in order to generate the right code for a given timeframe. Since each code is valid for only 1 minute, if your phone's clock is too far in the future or too far in the past, then your window of opportunity to type in the code correctly is reduced.
Solution: Verify that your phone's date & time is configured to be updated automatically by your carrier:
1. Open Settings
2. Tap System
3. Tap Date & Time
4. Make sure Automatic date & time and Automated time zone are selected
iii) If you use SMS - Your cell phone provider could be delayed in physically sending you your text message with a verification code, which could in turn be eating into your 1-minute opportunity to correctly input your code.
Solution: If this issue persists, we recommend switching to an email or an authenticator app-based Two-Step Verification process (sadly we can't expedite text messages being sent).
