You can definitely have different risk profiles (and therefore portfolios) for each of your Wealthsimple accounts! For example, if you are saving for retirement using your RRSP but are using your TFSA to save for a new car, there is a chance they have different time horizons and probably should be invested in different portfolios!
If you would like to request a change to your portfolio, you can do this through your Wealthsimple profile. From the Portfolio page, click on the account for which you would like to make the change.
On the left-hand side of the page, you will see the option to change your Portfolio theme or Risk level for your account, for example:
Risk score changes are also available on the mobile application. Simply tap on the Wealthsimple account of your choice. You will have the choice to alter either your Portfolio theme or Risk level for each account.
If you are prompted to complete a survey, the last question will allow you to specify which account you would like to make changes for. If you have more than one of the same account type, please make sure to nickname one of the accounts first, then choose Other, and type the name of the account.
Note that your request may require approval from a Portfolio Manager to ensure that your investment changes are aligned with your goals.
After submission, if approval is required, one of our Portfolio Managers will respond to your request through email. You may be required to book a call with a Portfolio Manager to ensure that your investment changes are aligned with your goals. Please note: it will take up to 3 business days to trade your portfolio to your new risk level.
