We recently made a change to improve your account's security by requiring multi-factor authentication (MFA) to be set up for all of our clients. We've made this change to further help protect your personal information and your savings, and these changes are also in-line with best practices for the financial services industry.
To access your account, you'll now be required to input a random code sent to either your email, phone (via SMS text), or an authenticator application. You can set your preferred method from the Settings section of the website or mobile app. If you do not want to input a code each time you log in, please select the option from the code page to remember your device for 30 days. This feature cannot be disabled at this time.
In addition to MFA, we recommend using different passwords for different websites. For example, use a different password with Wealthsimple than you do for Gmail, RBC, and Rogers. It is also prudent to rotate your passwords every few months. 1Password is a great tool to store passwords!
