We're pleased to announce that Wealthsimple is fully operational in both Canada and the United States! For our clients who relocate between the two countries, this can mean a much smoother transition of investment accounts over the same platform. Here's how it's done.

To move your accounts from Canada to the US or vice-versa, you will need to start by opening a Wealthsimple account registered in the country you're moving to. You can do this by signing up at https://my.wealthsimple.com/app/public/region and selecting your new country of residence.

One thing to note is that you'll need to use a different email address for your second Wealthsimple account.

Once you have opened your new Wealthsimple account, you can transfer assets from your other geography by creating a request with our support team.

Please note that if you are transferring a registered investment account, there are special tax implications that should be considered. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this.
