What is Memecoin?
Memecoin (MEME) is a community-driven cryptocurrency project that originated as a satirical response to speculative digital assets but has since evolved into a broader experiment in decentralized culture and social engagement within Web3. Built on the Ethereum blockchain, the project seeks to explore how internet communities can coordinate and create value through shared participation rather than traditional financial utility.
What is MEME?
The native token of the platform is MEME, which operates on the Ethereum blockchain. MEME functions primarily as a social token, enabling holders to take part in ecosystem activities, community initiatives, and collaborations with artists, creators, and partner projects. It has been associated with various NFT releases and on-chain social experiments designed to foster user creativity and interaction. The token does not otherwise offer any utility on the Ethereum network and instead represents a collective identity within the memecoin culture. The token has a total supply of 69 billion units of MEME, with approximately 56.97 billion MEME currently in circulation.
