An account is what you use to log in to Wealthsimple Tax, using your email address and password for access.

A profile is a specific person in an account. Each tax return you work on is associated with a profile. For example, in your account, you would have one profile for you and another profile for your partner.

While you can only have one account per email address, each account can have many profiles (up to 20).
