How does the 1% cash back promotion work?

How does the stock or Crypto back promotion work?
Instead of earning 1% cash back to your spending account, you can choose to invest it directly in either stocks and ETFs, or cryptocurrency. These cash back rewards are deposited into one of your trading accounts.
Will the Wealthsimple Card affect my credit score?
No, Wealthsimple cards are prepaid Visa cards so it will not impact your credit score.
Can I have more than one card for my account?
No, Wealthsimple Cards are limited to one per person.
How does it work when Wealthsimple isn’t a bank?
The Wealthsimple Card is a prepaid Visa card. When you insert your card at a terminal, you will need to select credit. The card uses the Visa payments system and is accepted everywhere Visa is accepted.
How does Wealthsimple make money through spending accounts?
There are no account, management, or transaction fees associated with the Wealthsimple spending (Cash) account.
