Error 92124 is related to Canada Pension Plan (CPP) calculations and occurs when you're filing a tax return more than four years after the end of the tax year. To resolve this issue and file your return, follow these steps:
- Locate your T1 and Schedule 1 in the Documents section of your profile
- Find the amount on line 30800 of Schedule 1 and make a note of it
- Update your T4 slip(s):
- Go to the Employment Income section in your profile
- Enter the amount from line 30800 into box 16 of your T4 slip
- If you have multiple T4 slips, divide the amount among them
- Ensure the total of all box 16 entries doesn't exceed the amount on line 30800
- This adjustment will remove the CPP overpayment amount on line 44800 of your return
- Try submitting your return again
Remember: This process is only necessary for returns being filed more than four years late. For current or recent years, you shouldn't encounter this error.
If you continue to experience issues, consider seeking advice from a tax professional or contacting the CRA directly.
