The federal fitness and arts amounts and Ontario children’s activity amount have been eliminated for 2017 and later years.
The following information still applies to certain provincial credits:
The additional $500 credit you receive for the fitness and/or arts amount is automatically applied when you enter more than $100 of fitness and/or arts expenses and indicate your child has a disability.
You don’t actually need to spend the extra $500, you are eligible for the entire additional amount if you spend at least $100. For example, if you enter $400 in fitness expenses your tax credit will be $900. Or, if you enter $200 in arts expenses, your tax credit will be $700.
