Overview
Your FHSA participation room statement shows the CRA information used to calculate your FHSA participation room and carry-forward amounts. You'll need the amounts on this statement to complete the first part of the FHSA Contributions & Income section in Wealthsimple Tax.
Find your FHSA participation room statement
Your FHSA participation room statement is available in your CRA My Account:
- Log in to your CRA My Account
- Go to the Savings and pension plans tab
- In the First Home Savings Account (FHSA) section, select View FHSA details
- Select FHSA participation room
Use your statement in Wealthsimple Tax
Enter the amounts from your statement into the matching fields in the first part of the FHSA Contributions & Income section of your tax profile.
Use the statement for the tax year you're filing, which isn't always the most recent statement in your CRA My Account. For example, if you're filing your 2025 return, use your 2025 statement, even if your 2026 statement is already available.
To learn how to complete the rest of the section, including your T4FHSA slip, see Report FHSA activities on your tax return.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my participation room statement show the previous year?
It's normal for your statement to include FHSA activity from the previous year because the CRA uses that information to calculate your participation room for the current year. For example, your 2025 statement includes your 2024 FHSA activity. That's also why the fields in the first part of the FHSA Contributions & Income section refer to the previous year.
What if I don't have a participation room statement?
If this is the year you opened your first FHSA, you won't have a statement yet, so you don't need to complete the first part of the FHSA Contributions & Income section. Make sure you've answered the FHSA question in the Other stuff we have to ask section. If you made contributions, transfers, or withdrawals, enter your T4FHSA slip in the second part of the section. For future returns, use the participation room statement for the tax year you're filing.
What if I can't access my statement or the information looks wrong?
Contact the CRA. Your participation room statement is the best source for the CRA amounts in Wealthsimple Tax, and the CRA can help if you can't access it or believe the information is missing or incorrect.
