Under the current pension rules, people can access their pension at age 55. However, this is increasing to age 57 by 2028. The age an individual can access their personal pension is currently 10 years below the state pension age (i.e. by 2028 the state pension age will be 67 and so you will be able to access your pension by 57).
Unfortunately, the rules are always subject to change and you will only be allowed to access your pension in line with the pension rules as at the time of taking the pension benefits.
Once you reach the pension age, there are different methods of accessing the money within a SIPP, so please see the section below based on withdrawal types.
