We'd hate to see you go! But we understand that sometimes plans change and you may need to close your account.
If your account is funded, simply withdraw the funds to your linked bank account by signing in from a web browser and clicking on your name in the top-right corner of your account > Withdrawals. Once your account balance is at £0, simply submit a request to our team and we will remove it from your profile.
If your account was never funded, you can click on the account and you should see the option to "remove it".
If you would like to delete your entire Wealthsimple profile, please note that there is no charge for keeping your account open with us. Furthermore, keeping your account open will make it easier for you to access your tax documents come that time of year as well as all of your account statements. You can also certainly unsubscribe from our mailing lists if you decide to keep your account open under your Settings.
If you would still like to delete your profile, simply submit a request to our Relationship Management team and we'll help you out. Note that we can't delete your profile until there is no money left in your accounts. When you contact us, we'd also love to hear your feedback and why you've decided to close your account!
Note: We are required to keep records of your personal information for at least 5 years. This is a requirement of the Financial Conduct Authority, the regulator for financial service companies in the UK. If you would like more information on this please see here. Your personal details will always be held securely and handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
