Wealthsimple provides restricted advice and manages your portfolio on a discretionary basis. This means that our advice is limited to certain financial instruments, specifically to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds. We believe this is the best way to keep costs down, and to keep your portfolio simple. However, this also means that there are instances where you may want to speak to an independent financial advisor, for example about your investments outside of Wealthsimple or about products we do not offer, such as insurance policies.
