What kind of document should I upload?
The best document to upload would be the latest investment account statement from whichever financial institution is currently managing your investments. This could be a monthly or annual statement for your investment accounts.
There are a number of ways you can access your investment account statements:
Finding your statement online
Account statements can be accessed online for most institutions. Login to your institution's website through a web browser. Once you are logged in to your account profile, navigate to 'My Documents' or 'My Account Statements' (the language for these sections may vary by institution). Download the appropriate document (typically a monthly or annual statement) to your computer and upload it to the Wealthsimple website.
Obtaining your statement via e-mail or mail
All institutions are required to send you your account statements, either by mail or email. If you receive your account statement via mail, please scan or take a high-resolution picture and upload it to the Wealthsimple website. If you receive statements via email, please download the document as a PDF and upload it to the Wealthsimple website. If you are having difficulties uploading documents, please contact support@wealthsimple.com and we will be more than happy to assist you.
Call your branch
If you are unable to access your account statement online or can't find any mailed statements, you can contact your branch to obtain the appropriate documents. Your branch representative will be able to instruct you on how to best access your account statements.
Visit your branch in person
Alternatively, you can visit your local branch and ask for your investment account statements. They will be able to print or email your statements to you which then can be uploaded to the Wealthsimple website.
