Overview
Most transfers automatically generate a signature when you submit your request. However, there are times when you must manually sign a form or provide an e-signature to move your money to Wealthsimple.
If your transfer requires a signature, you'll see an Action required status in your account. You can complete this signature directly in the Wealthsimple app through an e-signature or by uploading a "wet signature" (a physical signature on a printed document).
How to provide a signature
If you haven't signed your transfer form yet, follow the steps below depending on the type of request.
E-sign a transfer initiated by our support team
If our support team initiated a transfer on your behalf, you must review and approve it in-app.
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Find the transfer with the Action required status
- Tap Sign now at the bottom of the screen
- On the Sign in the space below prompt, use your finger or a stylus to draw your signature
- Tap Submit
Upload a physical (wet) signature
If your account type requires a physical signature, you can upload a photo or scan of the document directly to the app.
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- In your Transfer Hub, tap the transfer that shows Action required
- Tap Get form at the bottom of the screen
- Tap Get the request form here to download the document
- Print and physically sign the request form
- Return to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap the Tap to upload form button
- Select the file or take a photo of your signed form
- Tap Submit
Sign via DocuSign
In some cases, we may email you a DocuSign link to complete your request.
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app.
- Under Accounts, tap the account you're transferring funds into.
- Tap the account transfer at the top of the screen
- Tap Open email at the bottom of your screen
- Tap Review Document (the form will open in a new browser window)
- Follow the prompts to digitally sign your transfer request form
