Overview
You can find your account number in the Wealthsimple app and on the web. Your account number is a unique identifier for your specific account.
How to find your account number
Follow these steps to find your account number:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap your desired account
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner
- The account number is at the top of the screen
- Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
- Select the Profile menu in the bottom corner
- Select Settings from the menu
- Select Accounts from the options
- Select an account
- The account number is at the top of the page
You can also find your account numbers at any time in each of your trade confirmations, monthly statements, and the Investor Policy Statement.
Find your chequing account numbers
Your Wealthsimple chequing account has two different account numbers that are used for different purposes.
Direct deposit account number
This is your numerical account number. You'll use it for banking functions like setting up direct deposits and pre-authorized debits.

Investment account number
This is your alphanumeric account number (it starts with a "W" and ends with "CAD"). You may need to provide this number for certain forms or official documents.
To find your W...CAD account number:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app.
- Tap on your Chequing account from the home screen.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to the 'Account documents' section.
- Open the Investment account agreement document.
- Your W...CAD account number is displayed at the top of this document.
Understanding your account numbers
- Self-directed investing account numbers begin with 'H' and end in 'CAD'.
- Managed portfolio account (including our Registered Savings Account) numbers begin with 'W' and end in 'CAD'.
- Self-directed portfolio account numbers begin with 'WZ' and end in 'CAD'.
- USD savings account numbers begin with 'W' and end in 'USD'.
- Investment accounts have one account number, which starts with a 'W' and ends in 'CAD'.
- Chequing accounts have two account numbers: a numerical one for banking and an alphanumeric one (W...CAD format) for administrative purposes.
- Each account number is unique to you and your Wealthsimple account.
If your account has only a CAD number, please note that USD and CAD cash are held in the same account.
