Enhanced performance insights enable you to interact with your investment data to make financial decisions. On top of the existing metrics that are available on your main account screen, you can view the following performance insights:
- Unrealized return
- Time-weighted return (TWR)
- Historical dividends
- Realized returns
- Deposit and contribution tracking
You can access these insights from your Wealthsimple Trade or managed investment accounts.
If you're part of a household, you may also be able to switch to a Household view in Performance insights to see combined performance insights at the household level, in addition to your personal insights.

How to access your performance insights
To access enhanced performance insights:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap any investing account
- Under your current portfolio value, tap the arrow beside your account returns
- Review the available performance metrics:
- Current value
- Net deposits
- Historical deposits and contributions
- All time return
- Unrealized return
- Realized returns
- Simple return rate
- Dividends earned
- Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
- Select any investing account
- Under your current portfolio value, select View insights
- Review the available performance metrics:

View household performance insights (if you're in a household)
If you're part of a household and have access to household performance insights, you can switch to the Household view from within Performance insights.
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap any investing account
- Scroll down until the filter button appears in the top right corner
- Choose Household from the options
- Select the Type of accounts to view and the Time range
- Review the available performance metrics:

- Net deposits
- Historical deposits and contributions
- All time return

Frequently asked questions
How frequently are the metrics updated?
Most metrics are updated in real-time or near real-time during market hours. Some aggregated calculations may update with a slight delay.
Can I export or download my performance insights data?
Currently, you can only view your insights data in the Wealthsimple app. You can't export your data.
Where can I learn more about performance insights, such as realized returns?
Learn more about realized returns, unrealized returns, SRR, and historical dividends in trading accounts.
You can also learn more about SRR, TWR, and the money-weighted return (MWR) in managed portfolios.
Can my household partner see my individual performance insights?
Household performance insights show combined data for the household. Your partner can see the overall household performance, but your individual account performance insights remain private.
