Overview
When you unstake your crypto, it stops earning staking rewards. Your crypto then goes through a cool-down period before it's unstaked from the network.
Important notes about unstaking:
- Cool-down periods are different for every crypto. Check the staking article for your asset to see how long yours takes.
- If you stake the same crypto again later, it goes through a new warm-up period before it starts earning rewards.
Eligibility
You can unstake any crypto you've staked with Wealthsimple. Cool-down periods and conditions are different for each asset, so check the staking article for the crypto you want to unstake:
How to unstake your crypto
Follow these steps to unstake your crypto:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap your Crypto account
- Under Staking rewards, choose the crypto you want to unstake
- Tap Unstake at the bottom
- Read the unstaking information
- Tap Got it
- Choose the amount you want to unstake
- Tap Continue
- Review the details and tap Unstake
We'll send a notification when the unstaking process is complete.
