What is JasmyCoin?
JasmyCoin is an ERC-20 token launched in October 2021 by Jasmy Corporation, a Tokyo-based company founded by former Sony executives. Jasmy aims to restore data sovereignty through the use of blockchain and IoT technologies. It functions as the native utility token within the Jasmy ecosystem, where users store personal data securely in "Personal Data Lockers" and are compensated with JASMY when granting access to businesses under their control. The platform employs components like the Secure Knowledge Communicator (SKC) for identity management and Smart Guardian (SG) for authenticating IoT devices. Jasmy's vision centers on "data democracy," offering individuals a decentralized, consent-driven data marketplace as an alternative to traditional, centralized data control.
What is JASMY?
The native token of the protocol is JASMY, which operates on the Ethereum blockchain. The token's primary role is to enable users to securely store, manage, and selectively share personal data, often generated by IoT devices, in exchange for compensation. As such, JASMY can be used for transferring tokens between devices and as payment for network services. There is a maximum supply of 50 billion units of JASMY, and at the time of this publication, there are ~49.44 billion JASMY currently in circulation.
