If you're using Auto-fill my return and notice some slips are missing, here's what you need to know:
Reasons for missing slips:
- The CRA hasn't received the slip from the issuer yet
- The CRA has received but not processed the slip
- Companies often send slips to individuals before submitting them to the CRA
Important dates:
- Different types of slips have varying due dates for submission to the CRA
- Slips received on time are usually processed by the CRA within 1-2 weeks
How to check which slips the CRA has:
- Log in to your CRA My Account
- Click on "Tax information slips (T4 and more)" on the right-hand-side
- Review the list of slips the CRA has received and processed
What to do if a slip is missing from Auto-fill:
- Wait a few days and try Auto-fill again
- If you have a physical or digital copy of the slip, you can enter it manually
Remember:
- You're not required to use Auto-fill to complete your tax return
- Always report all income, even if a slip isn't available through Auto-fill
- Keep all your tax slips and documents for your records
