You can remove secondary tax profiles from your Wealthsimple profile. Deleting a profile is permanent and will remove all of its associated tax information. It's not possible to delete your primary tax profile.
How to delete a tax profile
You can delete a tax profile by following the steps below in a web browser:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple profile on the web
- Select the Tax tab at the top of the screen
- Select a tax year and the profile you wish to delete
- Select Documents in the top right corner
- Choose Tax returns from the dropdown menu
- Scroll to find the profile you want to delete
- Select the More menu (three dots) next to the profile name
- Select Delete profile
Note: Deleting a tax profile can't be undone. We recommend downloading any tax documents you may need before you delete a profile.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see the option to delete a profile?
If the Delete profile option isn't available, it's likely because it's your primary profile. You can't delete your primary tax profile. If you need to change which profile is your primary one, please contact our support team for assistance.
What happens when I delete a tax profile?
When you delete a tax profile, all of the tax information associated with it is permanently removed from your Wealthsimple profile. This includes any tax returns you have filed or started.
