Overview
If you originally filed your tax return with a different service or software, you can still use Wealthsimple Tax to submit adjustments using the Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) ReFILE service. This article explains how to recreate your return in our software to submit your changes.
You can use Wealthsimple Tax to ReFILE returns for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 tax years only.
Before you begin
To prepare to ReFILE, make sure you have the following:
- A copy of your original tax return that was assessed by the CRA.
- Any new or corrected information or slips you need to add to your return.
How to ReFILE using Wealthsimple Tax
Follow these steps to submit your changes through ReFILE:
- Create a new tax profile in Wealthsimple Tax for the tax year you need to amend.
- Enter all the information from your original, assessed return accurately.
- Add the new or corrected information to your profile.
- Select Review & Optimize from the bottom of the screen to check for any errors or warnings.
- Navigate to the Submit section and click the Submit tax return button to send your changes via ReFILE.
After you submit your changes
- You will receive a new confirmation number from the CRA for your ReFILE submission. Keep this for your records.
- The CRA will process your adjustment and send you a Notice of Reassessment.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do if I get error TUD00010 or 602?
This error means the CRA doesn't accept these specific changes through the ReFILE service. You will need to make your adjustments directly through your CRA My Account or by submitting a T1 Adjustment Request form by mail.
What should I do if I get error TUD00013 or 603?
This error usually means your original return hasn't been assessed by the CRA yet. Please wait a few days for the CRA to process your original return, then try to ReFILE again.
