If you've made contributions to your Registered Pension Plan (RPP) that aren't reported on your T4 or T4A slips, you can still claim them on your tax return. Here's how to do it in Wealthsimple Tax:
Reporting additional RPP contributions:
- Add the RPP Contributions Not Showing on a T4 or T4A section to your profile
- Enter the amount of your additional RPP contributions in this section
This section is also used for:
- Deductible past service pension adjustments (PSPA)
- Service buyback contributions
Important notes:
- Only report contributions that are not already included on your T4 or T4A slips
- Ensure you have receipts or documentation to support these contributions
- The deduction for these contributions appears on line 20700 of your tax return
Remember:
- Keep all receipts and documentation related to your pension contributions
- If you're unsure about the deductibility of a contribution, check with your pension plan administrator
If you have questions about how these contributions affect your taxes or pension adjustment, consider consulting with a tax expert for guidance.
