You can cancel or disable USD accounts at any time:
- Core clients: Follow the instructions below to cancel your paid subscription.
- Premium and Generation clients: Contact our Client Support team to disable one or more of your free USD accounts.
Cancel your paid subscription to USD accounts
Here's what happens when you cancel your subscription:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.
- Your last billing cycle will be extended for 100 days for no additional cost.
- At the end of the billing cycle, we'll move all your USD stocks held in your trading accounts to your CAD accounts and cancel any open orders. There is no currency conversion fee to move your holdings from a USD account to a CAD account.
- It'll take about four hours for the transfer to complete. You won't be able to sell your U.S. stocks during this time.
- We'll convert your U.S. Dollar cash balance into Canadian Dollars. There is a 1.5% currency conversion fee to convert USD into CAD.
Follow these steps to cancel your subscription:
- Sign in to the Wealthsimple app on your mobile device
- Tap the Profile icon at the top-right of the screen
- Scroll down and tap USD accounts
- At the bottom of the page, tap Cancel subscription
- You’ll be prompted to confirm your cancellation. If you’d like to go ahead and cancel select Yes, I’m sure
