Overview
You can cancel or disable USD accounts at any time. If you decide to cancel your self-directed USD accounts, we'll simply merge your Canadian Dollar and U.S. Dollar accounts back into a single account.
To cancel or disable USD accounts:
- Core clients: Follow the instructions below to cancel your paid subscription.
- Premium and Generation clients: Contact our support team to disable one of your free USD accounts.
What happens when you cancel your subscription
Here's what happens when you cancel your subscription:
- Subscriptions will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.
- At the end of the billing cycle, all USD stocks will remain in the same account.
- Any unused USD cash balance will remain as is, but you can't use it towards USD trades. You can manually convert this cash balance or transfer it to another account.
Cancel your paid subscription to USD accounts
If you're a Core client, you can follow these steps to cancel your paid subscription:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap the Profile (person) icon at the top-right of the screen
- Scroll down and tap USD accounts
- At the bottom of the page, tap Cancel subscription
- You'll be prompted to confirm your cancellation. If you'd like to go ahead and cancel, select Yes, confirm
- Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
- Select the Profile menu in the bottom left corner
- Select Settings from the menu
- Select Investments
- Select USD accounts
- Select Cancel subscription
- You'll be prompted to confirm your cancellation. If you'd like to go ahead and cancel, select Yes, confirm
