Overview
Administrators can adjust employee statuses, salaries, or specific contribution amounts prior to a pay date. Most changes to employee details must be finalized at least four business days before your scheduled pay date.
Before you begin
- Deadlines: You can make contribution changes up until the day before a contribution is scheduled. No changes can be made on the actual day of the contribution.
- CSV Reporting: Once payroll is closed, you can download a CSV file to view updated ongoing and one-time contribution data.
- Visibility: Employees who have not yet set their contribution elections will not appear in the Review contributions list.
Change an employee's salary
Follow these steps to change an employee's salary or other profile details:
- Log in to Wealthsimple on the web
- Select the Employees tab
- Use the search box to find a specific employee or select from the list
- Select Edit to update the Employee profile
- Select Save
Archive an employee
Follow these steps to archive an employee no longer with the company:
- Log in to Wealthsimple on the web
- Select the Employees tab
- Use the search function on the right-hand side of the page to find the employee
- Select the employee's name to open their profile
- Scroll down to the Manage employee section
- Select Archive employee
Change an employee's contribution status
Follow these steps to change the contribution status for an employee:
- Log in to Wealthsimple on the web
- Select the Employees tab
- Use the search function to find the employee you want to manage
- Select the employee's name to open their profile
- Scroll down to the Manage employee section
- Select Pause employee contributions or Reactivate employee contributions, depending on their current status
