Wealthsimple Visa Infinite cardholders who were approved before April 27, 2026, continue to enjoy the following benefits:
- 2% cash back: Visa Infinite cardholders enjoy unlimited 2% cash back on eligible purchases. Learn more about earning cash back with your credit card, including eligible purchases.

No monthly fee (if eligible): We'll waive your annual fee if you have $100,000 or more with us, or if you switch a qualifying paycheque to Wealthsimple.

Out of province/country emergency medical insurance
This insurance covers you and your family (Spouse and Dependent Children only) for up to $1,000,000 in emergency medical expenses while travelling outside your home province or country.
Summary of insurance benefits:
- Coverage: Up to $1,000,000 for emergency medical treatment.
- Eligibility: Insureds under age 65 only.
- Coverage duration: You're covered for the first 14 consecutive days of your trip.

Benefits include:
- Hospital and medical expenses
- Emergency dental expenses (up to $2,000 for accidental dental injury, $200 for dental pain)
- Emergency air transportation/evacuation
- Return of deceased (up to $5,000)
- Additional hotel and meal expenses (up to $150/day, maximum $1,500)
- Exclusions & limitations: Refer to pages 8-9 of the certificate of insurance.
Trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance
If you need to cancel or interrupt your trip due to a covered reason, you may be reimbursed for up to $1,000 per eligible person, with a maximum of $3,000 per trip. Your trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance covers trips booked and paid for on or after September 1, 2025.

- Coverage: Up to $1,000 per eligible person (maximum $3,000 per trip).

Delayed & lost baggage insurance
This insurance can cover you for emergency purchases if your baggage is delayed for more than 6 hours. It can also cover lost or damaged baggage. Delayed and lost baggage insurance covers airline tickets booked and paid for on or after September 1, 2025.

Coverage:
- Delayed baggage by more than 6 hours: Up to $500 for emergency purchases
- Lost/damaged baggage: Up to $750 for lost checked baggage and contents.
- Maximum combined coverage: $1,000
- Eligibility: The full cost of an airline ticket must be charged to your card.
- Coverage duration: Your baggage must be delayed for over 6 hours and you must make your emergency purchases within 96 hours of your arrival.
- Exclusions & limitations: Refer to pages 18-19 of the certificate of insurance.
Flight delay insurance
This insurance can cover you for up to $1,000 in reasonable and necessary expenses, such as hotel accommodations, meals, refreshments, and emergency purchases, incurred when a traveller faces a missed connection, denied boarding, or a flight delay of at least three hours. Flight Delay Insurance provides coverage when airline tickets are booked and paid for after the effective date of February 3, 2026.

- Coverage: Up to $1,000 for reasonable and necessary expenses (maximum $2,500 per any one occurrence)
- Eligibility: The full cost of an airline ticket must be charged to your card.

Covered duration:
- Missed connection: Your coverage begins for a missed connection if your arrival is delayed by more than 3 hours, and the airline doesn't offer you an alternative way to travel within 3 hours of your original departure time.
- Delayed flight departure: Your coverage begins for a delayed departure if your flight is delayed for more than 3 hours and the airline doesn't offer you an alternative way to travel during that time.
- Denied onboarding: Your coverage begins if you're denied boarding because a flight is overbooked, you're covered for expenses starting 3 hours after the denial, as long as the airline doesn't offer you another way to travel within 4 hours of your original departure.
- Exclusions: Refer to page 21 of the certificate of insurance.
Purchase security & extended warranty
Purchase security protects new items you buy with your credit card against loss, theft, or damage. Extended warranty coverage automatically doubles the period of repair services provided by the original manufacturer's warranty, up to a maximum of one additional year.

- Coverage: Up to $1,000 per occurrence for a total limit of $10,000 maximum per cardholder.
- Eligibility: The full purchase price of the insured item was charged to your card.
- Covered duration: Up to 90 days after the date of purchase.
- Exclusions: Refer to pages 24-25 of the certificate of insurance.
Extended warranty
- Coverage: Doubles the manufacturer's repair period up to one year.
- Eligibility: The full purchase price of the insured item was charged to your card.
- Covered duration: One full year following the expiry of the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Exclusions: Refer to pages 24-25 of the certificate of insurance.
Mobile phone insurance
You're covered for theft or damage to your phone when you pay your monthly bill with your credit card.

- Coverage: Up to $1,000 per claim, with a $50 deductible.
- Eligibility: You must pay your monthly phone bill with your card.
- Covered duration: Maximum of 2 claims per 12-month period.
- Exclusions: Refer to page 28 of the certificate of insurance.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to replace my Visa Infinite card now that there’s a Visa Infinite + card?
No. If you were approved for the Wealthsimple Visa Infinite credit card before April 27, 2026, you can keep using it as usual.
What's the difference between the Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite + credit card?
The Visa Infinite + card is a brand new tier offered by Visa. While eligibility requirements have changed with this new tier, the benefits and experience remain the same as our previous Visa Infinite card. The only difference in benefits is 10GB extra of mobile data for the VI+ card.
Can I upgrade from the Visa Infinite card to the Visa Infinite + card?
At this time we don't have the ability to upgrade from Visa Infinite to Visa Infinite +. We'll share more information as we make developments.
