Overview
You can request a prepaid business Visa card in the Wealthsimple app. When you request the card, you'll confirm the name on your card, set your PIN, and confirm your shipping address.
Eligibility
- You must have a Business chequing account open.
- Any account owner can request the card. This can be the primary account owner or a co-owner.
- One card per business. You may request a single card for one Business chequing account, even if your business has multiple chequing accounts.
Request your card
Follow the steps in the Wealthsimple app (not available on web):
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app.
- Select the Business chequing account you want to use with your card.
- Tap Settings (gear icon).
- Tap Order your card.
- Review or edit the name that will appear on the card.
- Tap Next.
- Enter the business name you want to appear on the card (if shown).
- Tap Save changes.
- Confirm your shipping address (tap Update address if you need to change it).
- Review and submit your request.
- Set and confirm your PIN.

Activate your physical card
You can activate your physical prepaid business Visa card in the Wealthsimple app (not available on web):
- In the Wealthsimple app, open your prepaid business Visa card.
- Scan the QR code on your card packaging, or tap the in-app banner and select Activate my card.
- Tap Activate and follow the prompts.

Does the prepaid business Visa card earn cash back?
Yes. You earn 1% cash back on all eligible purchases made with your prepaid business Visa card.
Is there a fee for the prepaid business Visa card?
No, the card is free to order and doesn't incur monthly fees.
Are there any FX fees when using the card internationally?
No, Wealthsimple doesn't charge FX fees, but transactions are still subject to currency conversion from card networks or fees from merchants or financial institutions involved in the transaction. For an estimate, you can use this currency conversion fee calculator (set the Bank fee (%) to 0). This rate may vary between the time of authorization and settlement.
When will I get my physical card?
Your virtual card is available instantly in the Wealthsimple app. You'll receive your physical card 5–7 business days after requesting one.
To track the status of your physical card:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app.
- Select your Business chequing account.
- Tap the blue banner labelled Your physical card is on the way.
- Review the current status of your card.
Can I use my prepaid business Visa card at ATMs?
Yes, you can use your card at any ATM and you will be reimbursed the fees.
Can I have a prepaid business Visa card for more than one business?
Yes, you can order one card per business that you are a director of.
Can I have more than one card for my business?
No. Wealthsimple prepaid business Visa cards are limited to one per business.
