Establishment of Referral Relationship. The referral relationship begins when the Referee either: (a) signs up with Wealthsimple for the first time via the Referrer's referral link, or (b) applies the Referrer's referral code in the Wealthsimple app within seven (7) days of funding a Wealthsimple account for the first time (the "Referral Relationship Establishment").

To participate in the Promotion, the Referrer must provide their promo link to a Referee via the Wealthsimple app. The Referee must then (i) either: (a) sign up for a Wealthsimple Account using the Referrer’s promo link, or (b) apply the Referrer’s referral code to the Referee’s unfunded Wealthsimple Account, then (ii) apply for and be approved for a Credit Card within the Referral Period (the “Qualifying Referral”).

There are no fees associated with the creation of a Wealthsimple Account. A Client can open a Wealthsimple Account by visiting https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca and following the instructions on how to create an account. Further details on transferring an account to Wealthsimple can be found at https://wsim.co/transfer-account.

Transfer Fee from External Institutions. There may be fees charged by an institution outside of Wealthsimple for the transfer of the Client’s account(s) to Wealthsimple. Wealthsimple will automatically reimburse the transfer-out fee per account from an institution if the Client’s qualifying transfer is equal to or greater than $25,000 in a single account transfer. For further details and conditions, please visit https://wsim.co/fee-reimbursement.

Boost. Once an eligible Referee completes the Qualifying Action, the Referrer and Referee will both receive an increased cash back boost amount of 3% additional cash back on top of the Credit Card’s standard 2% cash back rate (the “Boost”) for thirty (30) days following the Qualifying Action (the “Boosted Period”). For greater certainty, each Boosted Period is sequential, meaning if a Client is already receiving a Boost and in an existing Boosted Period, then another Qualifying Action is completed, earning the client a subsequent Boost, that Boost will begin once the existing Boosted Period has ended.

The Boost is only available on the first $10,000 of net purchases during the Boosted Period. Any purchases over this amount will earn at the standard cash back rate of 2%. The 2% cash back earn rate and the Boost apply to purchases, excluding cash-like transactions, gift card purchases, refunds, and any applicable fees and adjustments.

All other terms and conditions associated with the Credit Card apply. This Boost cannot be applied retroactively and remains subject to change, at Wealthsimple’s sole discretion. Maximum of one (1) Bonus per Qualifying Referral for the Referrer. Each Qualifying Referral must be of a different Referee and cross-referrals, or Referrer and Referee, cannot refer each other. Limit of one (1) Bonus per Referee as their capacity of a Referee. Maximum twenty (20) Referral Boosts per Wealthsimple Client.

Hold Period. Clients who receive a Boost must not close or otherwise deactivate their Credit Card for 180 days from the end of their respective Boosted Period, or the Boost amount (i.e., additional 3% cash back) may be deducted from the Wealthsimple account to which the Boost was ultimately applied to or otherwise recovered by Wealthsimple.

Application of Boost. Within seventy-two (72) hours of the Referral Period ending, the Boost will be activated on the Client’s Credit Card and will be applied to all qualified settled transactions during the Boosted Period.

Any returns on settled transactions with the Boost shall be adjusted at the Boost cash back rate.
