Your virtual Wealthsimple Cash card is a digital version of your physical Wealthsimple Cash card. You can use your virtual card to buy goods and services online with your virtual card number. You can also add it directly to your phone’s digital wallet to make in-person purchases.

If you have multiple Cash accounts

You can only spend using your Wealthsimple Cash card from the individual Cash account connected to your card. This account has a card icon in the top right corner of the account screen in the mobile app (or Card details on the web). It’s not currently possible to switch which individual Cash account you can spend from.

Instant availability
Your virtual card will be available for you to use as soon as your account agreements are signed. Unlike your physical card, your virtual card doesn’t need to be activated and you don’t need to wait for it to arrive in the mail.

Always at your fingertips
As long as you have your phone on you, you will have access to your virtual card. It’s great for times when you don’t have access to your wallet or physical card.

Increased security
Your virtual card has a different number than your physical card. This means that if your physical card gets compromised, your virtual card will remain protected and available for use.
