Manage email and launch notification settings

You can customize the email updates you receive about account-related information, product updates and promotion announcements, and turn launch notifications on or off. Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. Tap the Profile (person) icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Tap either Email notifications or Launch notifications
  6. Toggle on or off the items you'd like to be notified about
  1. Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
  2. Select the Profile menu in the bottom left corner
  3. Select Settings from the menu
  4. Select Notifications from the options
  5. Select either the Email notifications tab or the Launch notifications tab
  6. Toggle on or off the items you'd like to be notified about
Note: Email notification preferences are managed by product type, not by account type. If you turn off notifications for a product (for example, Managed investing), that preference applies to both your personal and business accounts of that type. You can't separate personal and business notification preferences at this time.

Manage push and SMS notifications

Push and SMS notifications are only available on the Wealthsimple app, so these settings can't be managed on the web:

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. Tap the Profile (person) icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Tap either Push notifications or SMS notifications
  6. Toggle on or off the items you'd like to be notified about

Manage shareholder communication materials

Shareholder communications are materials that include proxy votes, details on upcoming corporate actions, and financial reports.

Tip: As a shareholder of a company, you have the right to vote in shareholder meetings for that company. Learn more about participating in shareholder meetings and elections.

When you open an account, shareholder communication materials are turned off by default. You can choose to receive these materials or update your preferences at any time.

Note: Opting out doesn't stop all shareholder communications. Issuers may still be required to send certain materials, even if you've opted out.

  5. Tap Shareholder materials
  6. Select your preference for receiving shareholder materials

Delete notifications

Follow these steps to delete notifications in the notifications centre:

  3. Swipe left and tap the Delete (trash) icon

Frequently asked questions

What triggers a notification?

Depending on the activity, you may receive an email notification, an in-app (push) notification, or both types of notifications.

How do notifications work in joint and multi-owner accounts?

Everyone who has access to an account will receive notifications for account activities. Notifications identify which user associated with the account performed the action, when applicable.

Why am I getting shareholder material if I opted out of this feature?

Some shareholder materials that are deemed mandatory by the company will be sent out even if clients have opted out of receiving shareholder communications.
