Update your notification and shareholder communication settings

Email and push notifications

You can customize the email and push notification updates you receive about account-related information, product updates and promotion announcements. To do this, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Tap either Email notifications or Push notifications
  6. Here, you can toggle on or off the items for which you'd like to be notified
  1. Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
  2. Select the Profile menu in the bottom left corner
  3. Select Settings from the menu
  4. Select Notifications from the options
  5. On the Email notifications tab, toggle on or off the items you'd like to receive notifications for

Shareholder communication materials

Shareholder communications are materials that include proxy-votes, details on upcoming corporate actions, and financial reports.

Tip: As a shareholder of a company, you have the right to vote in shareholder meetings for that company. Learn more about participating in shareholder meetings and elections.

When you open an account, shareholder communication materials are turned off by default. You can choose to receive these materials or update your preferences at any time.

Note: Opting out doesn't stop all shareholder communications. Issuers may still be required to send certain materials, even if you've opted out.

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. Tap the Profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
  4. Select Notifications and then Shareholder materials
  5. Here, you can choose your shareholder communications settings
  1. Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
  2. Select the Profile menu in the bottom left corner
  3. Select Settings from the menu
  4. Select Notifications from the options
  5. Select the Shareholders materials tab
  6. Choose what kind of shareholder materials you'd like to receive notifications for 

Delete notifications

Follow these steps to delete notifications in the notifications centre:

  1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
  2. From the Home tab, tap the Notifications (bell) icon in the top left corner
  3. Swipe left and tap Delete

Frequently asked questions

Why am I getting shareholder material? I opted out of this feature.

Some shareholder materials that are deemed mandatory by the company will be sent out even if clients have opted out of receiving shareholder communications.
