Trade Plus is a professional-grade trading interface built into Wealthsimple’s web platform. It offers deeper charting and trading tools in a single view, allowing you to make better trading decisions and gain deeper insights with advanced trading charts. Trade Plus allows you to access candlestick and line charts and analyze market data across different timeframes.
This update consolidates key trading information and actions directly onto the chart screen, eliminating friction and increasing your speed and efficiency.
Here are some important considerations regarding Trade Plus:
- Advanced charts are not available for crypto and options at this time.
- Over-the-counter security data may be delayed on advanced charts, depending on the security you are viewing.

Key features of Trade Plus
Trade Plus enhances your trading experience with several integrated features:
- A dedicated watchlist screen on the left side of the interface.
- An advanced chart displaying detailed real-time market data, including Open, High, Low, and Close (OHLC) prices, as well as the current bid and ask prices.
- The ability to place buy and sell orders directly from the chart.
- A security detail screen on the right side of the interface.
- A section below the chart with tabs that allow you to instantly see your holdings, pending orders, and order history for the selected security.
- A dark mode toggle on the bottom right for customized viewing.
- The option to toggle accounts to see your available to trade balance on the bottom right.
How to access Trade Plus
You can toggle Trade Plus on or off anytime via the web. There are two main entry points:
- Maximize to advanced charts: Expand the price chart of any security on the web to open the advanced chart view (the Advanced button with two arrows).
- Toggle on homepage: Switch on Trade Plus directly from your Wealthsimple homepage on the web (the bar charts icon on the bottom left).
Change the chart style
Select the style toggle near the top of the chart to choose between the Baseline or Candles view.
Choose a timeframe
- To change the length of time you're viewing, use the buttons near the bottom of the chart to select a specific timeframe.
- To change the data granularity, scroll down on the chart to increase granularity and scroll up to decrease it.
Select an indicator
If you'd like to superimpose an indicator such as Current Price, Volume, Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP), Relative Strength Index (RSI), Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), or 5+ Day Moving Averages on the chart, select Indicators near the top of the chart and then check or uncheck your desired indicators.

The main difference is efficiency. On the regular chart page, you have to switch to other screens to see your positions or place a trade. With Trade Plus, everything is integrated onto one page. You can see the chart, view your holdings, and place trades all in the same place.
How do I place a trade from Trade Plus?
There are two ways to trade from Trade Plus:
- Click on the Buy or Sell button at the top left to open the order flow.
- If you already own the security, in the new panel below the chart, there's a Holdings tab. Within this tab, you'll see your current position in the stock you're viewing, along with buttons to buy or sell directly from that line item.
