You can close your Wealthsimple Visa Infinite* Credit Card at any time by following the steps outlined in this article.

Letting your card expire, cutting up your card, or not using it doesn't cancel your credit card. Leaving your unused credit card open can put you at risk of unexpected fraud. It's best to close your credit card account if you're no longer using your card.

Considerations before closing your credit card

Please consider the following before closing your credit card:

• Closing your credit card is permanent. Once closed, we can't reopen it. If you'd like to use a Wealthsimple Visa Infinite Credit Card again in the future, you'll need to reapply.
• You must pay off your balance in full before closing your account. You can't close an account with an outstanding balance.
• You should update any pre-authorized payments being sent to your credit card to avoid rejected payments.
• Please verify that there are no outstanding refunds before closing your account. Once your account is closed, we can't process further refunds.
