Result: The slip information will now be reported in both tax profiles.
Important notes:
- If the other person is not filing a return under the same Wealthsimple Tax account, you don't need to select a different profile from the drop-down
- If they're filing using a different Wealthsimple Tax account, software or service, you can report your percentage and leave the Share with field empty
Remember:
- Only share slips for joint accounts where both individuals are entitled to report the income
- Ensure the income allocation accurately reflects each person's share of the investment
If you're unsure about how to allocate joint investment income or have complex investment situations, consider consulting with a tax expert.
