Overview
Your Business account has statements and reports that are generated for you automatically. Which ones you get, and when, depends on your corporation's fiscal year. This article explains what each one covers, when to expect them, and where to find them in your Wealthsimple profile.
What statements and reports are available
- Corporate annual statement: A yearly summary of your Business account, including your performance, holdings, and the changes in your account over the year.
- Corporate foreign asset report: A report covering the foreign assets held in your Business account for the year.
When your statements are ready
When your statements are ready depends on your corporation's fiscal year.
- If your corporation has a fiscal year end other than December 31: Your annual statement and foreign asset report are both generated automatically 6 days after your fiscal year end.
- If your corporation uses a standard January 1 to December 31 calendar year: You receive a foreign asset report during tax season, usually in March. An annual statement isn't generated automatically in this case. If you need one, you can request it from our support team.
If you're unsure which of these applies to your account, contact our support team and we can check for you.
You don't need to request any statements that are generated automatically for your corporation. They'll appear in your account as soon as they're available.
Where to find your statements
You can find your statements and reports in the Documents section of your Wealthsimple profile by following these steps.
Frequently asked questions
When will my corporate statement be ready?
It depends on your corporation's fiscal year. See When your statements are ready for the two cases. If you're not sure which applies to your account, contact our support team and we can check for you.
Why isn't my corporate statement available at the start of the year?
Corporate statements are tied to your corporation's fiscal year, not the calendar year. If your fiscal year end isn't December 31, your statements will become available at a different point in the year than a personal statement would.
Why don't I have a corporate annual statement?
If your corporation uses a standard January 1 to December 31 calendar year, an annual statement isn't generated automatically. You still receive a foreign asset report, usually in March. If you need an annual statement, you can request one from our support team.
I don't see my corporate statement yet. What should I do?
First, check whether your corporation's fiscal year end has passed, since statements are generated 6 days afterward. If your corporation uses a standard January 1 to December 31 calendar year, note that only a foreign asset report is generated automatically (usually in March) and an annual statement isn't. If your statement should've been generated by now and you still don't see it, contact our support team and we can look into it for you.
Can I get a statement for a past year?
Yes. If you need a statement or report for an earlier year, contact our support team and we can help you get it.
