Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a contribution and a deposit on my statement?
A contribution (CONT) is money you add to a registered account, like a TFSA or RRSP, that counts toward your contribution room. A non-contribution deposit (DEP) is money added to your account that doesn't count as a contribution. For example, when you move money between two Wealthsimple accounts of the same type, like from one TFSA to another TFSA, we count it as a deposit rather than a contribution.
How can I see more detail about a transaction?
You can request a custom activity statement on web. For each transaction, it shows the transaction date, the settlement date, the transaction type, and a description of the transaction. Learn how to request a custom activity statement.
What should I do if I see a code that isn't on this list?
