Gigs is a platform that provides you with talk, text, and data options on the world’s best networks. When you claim Gigs as a milestone reward, you will get 10GB of high-speed data with eSIM with coverage across 146 countries. eSIMs don’t require a physical SIM card.
You’ll have access to Gigs for 12 months after you claim it as your milestone reward. Once you have claimed Gigs as your milestone reward, you can activate and use your eSIM at any time within those next 12 months.
Before you claim Gigs as your reward, please check that
- your device is compatible with eSIMs, and
- Gigs is supported in the country you intend to travel to

Install your eSIM
After you claim Gigs as your milestone reward, you must follow the steps below to activate your eSIM. Make sure you have a stable WiFi connection during the installation.
Apple iOS 17.4 and above
- Open the email you received on your iPhone. Click the Tap to install eSIM button
- Enable data roaming in network settings
Apple iOS 17.3 and below
- Check your email on another device to scan it with your iPhone camera
- Open your iPhone camera to scan the QR code you just received
- Select Continue to complete installation
- Enable data roaming in network settings
- Open the email you received on your Samsung and save the QR code to your gallery
- Go to your phone’s Settings and select Connections
- Select SIM manager on the Connection screen
- Select Add eSIM on the SIM manager screen
- Select Scan QR code on the Add mobile plan screen to scan the QR code you received on your email
- Tap Add on the Add eSIM confirmation screen
- Enable data roaming in network settings
- Open the email you received on a different device to scan the QR code with your smartphone
- Open your phone’s Settings and select Network & internet
- Select SIMs on the Network & internet screen
- Select Download a SIM instead? on the Connect mobile network screen
- Select Next on the Download your SIM screen
- Scan the QR code you received on your email, on the Scan QR code from network screen
- Click Download when the system asks for the provider network
- Tap on the Settings to activate the plan when the download is finished
- Finally, click Yes to activate the plan
- Enable data roaming in network settings

What is a travel eSIM?
A travel eSIM is a digital SIM that functions like a physical SIM card. It is intended for use while traveling, replacing your regular SIM. eSIM stands for "embedded SIM" and can be downloaded directly onto your phone.
When should I activate my travel eSIM?
It is recommended to activate your eSIM as soon as you are within one of the supported countries. Most eSIMs activate within a few minutes.
How can I track my data usage with Gigs?
At this time, there is no way to view the remaining data left on your eSIM. We recommend tracking your data usage separately based on your storage before and after activating your eSIM. Once your data has run out, your eSIM will automatically become inactive.
What are the restrictions of my travel eSIM?
Restrictions of travel eSIM:
- Once the eSIM is installed, it will be valid for 12 months.
- Provides data only: no talk, text, or phone number.
- Usable only in supported countries.
- Roaming must be turned on.
- Installable on one device, one time.
- Hard limit of 10 GB data usage.
- Device must be eSIM compatible.
- Subscription cannot be renewed.
- No option to upgrade or add more data.
How do I install my travel eSIM?

Can I reinstall my travel eSIM if I accidentally delete it?
Yes, you can reinstall the same eSIM on the same device if accidentally deleted.
Can I install my travel eSIM on multiple devices?
No, it can only be installed on one device.
Will my travel eSIM subscription renew?
No, it will expire after being active for 12 months as it is a free service.
Do I need to have roaming turned on to use my travel eSIM?
Yes, roaming must be turned on. Toggle off your primary SIM to avoid roaming charges.
What carrier network will I be connected to?
Travel eSIMs connect to the nearest and best available tower. The carrier may change during travel.
My travel eSIM isn't activating, what should I do?

- Ensure a working Wi-Fi connection or SIM with a connection.
- Confirm you are in a supported country.

If your travel eSIM has already been activated but is having trouble with its service, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Turn your device off then on again
- Toggle airplane mode on then off
- Turn roaming off then on again
- Confirm you have not reached your usage limit of 10GB
- Confirm you’re within one of the supported countries
- Check to see if the carrier you’re currently connected to is experiencing any outages, or that you’re within their coverage area
