Overview
You'll need to link a corporate chequing or savings bank account held with a Canadian financial institution before you can make a deposit and withdraw from your Wealthsimple Business account. To do this, we'll use one of our trusted partners, Flinks or Plaid, to securely request your online banking information. If you need to link your account manually, you can upload bank documents for verification via our AI-powered system, Persona.
If you can't link your bank account using Flinks or Plaid
If you can't or don't want to link your bank account through Flinks or Plaid, you can link your account manually via Persona or wire funds to your Wealthsimple account instead.
How to link your corporate bank account
When linking your bank account, we'll ask you to sign in to your bank via one of our trusted partners, Flinks or Plaid. Follow these steps to link your bank account:
- Log in to the Wealthsimple app
- Tap the Profile icon at the top-right corner of the screen
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon
- Choose Accounts from the options
- Scroll down and tap Linked accounts
- Tap + Link an account
- Follow the prompts to link your corporate bank account
- Log in to your Wealthsimple profile
- Select the Profile menu in the bottom left corner
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu
- Select Accounts
- Select the Linked accounts tab
- Select Link automatically or Link manually
- If you choose to link manually, you’ll be prompted to enter your bank details, create a Persona inquiry and upload your bank documents.

Manually link your corporate bank account
If we can't automatically link your bank account, you can follow the prompts to manually link it during the bank linking process.
You'll need the following information to manually link your account:
- Institution number (3 digits)
- Transit number (5 digits)
- Account number (7-11 digits)
You'll also need to upload an account statement for the bank you're linking. The statement must include:
- Your corporation's name
- The full account number
- The institution logo

Persona document verification
Once you upload your documents via Persona, the AI reviews them in real-time.
- Approved documents: The bank account is automatically created and ready for use. You’ll receive an email confirmation.
- Declined documents: You’ll receive a specific rejection reason and can attempt to upload different documents or contact support for assistance.
- Under review: If your documents are flagged for human review, you’ll see an "under review" status. This typically happens within 5 business day.
