Overview
To make a deposit, you must:
- Link a bank account to your Wealthsimple profile.
- Wait up to 5 business days for the deposit to show in your account.
If your deposit hasn't shown up after 5 business days, there's likely a problem linking your account. Please check the email linked to your Wealthsimple account for instructions from us.
Common bank linking issues
1. Name mismatch
The name on the bank account must match the name on your Wealthsimple profile.
Next steps
- If you made an error with your legal name or if you recently changed your legal name, please contact Client Support.
- If the account isn't yours, remove it and add an account in your name.
Note: If you have any pending deposits from an account that's not yours, please contact Client Support. We'll cancel the deposit and remove the account.
2. Wrong account type
We only support linking chequing and savings accounts. We don't support:
- Corporate or business accounts*
- Investment accounts (like TFSAs, RRSPs, and more)
- Line of credit or credit card accounts
- External crypto wallets
*You can only link a corporate bank if you have a Wealthsimple Business account.
Next steps
- If you linked an unsupported account, remove it and link a chequing or savings account.

3. Unsupported banks
If we don't support your bank, please check out different ways you can fund your Wealthsimple account.
Note: We can't link cross-border USD accounts, but you can link most domestic USD accounts. (except Simplii USD accounts). Or, you can wire USD funds to your Wealthsimple account.
