Overview
You can view or cancel a pending market, stop market, fractional, or stop-limit order in your self-directed investing account.
View or cancel a pending order
Follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Wealthsimple app on your mobile device
- Tap the Activity tab at the bottom of the screen
- Select the Pending tab from the top of your screen
- Select an order to view its details
- If available, you'll see the option to cancel the order at the bottom of the order page
- Log in to your Wealthsimple account
- Select Activity from the top menu
- From the Quick filters menu, select Pending
- Select an order to view its details
- If available, you'll see the option to cancel the order at the bottom of the order page
- Tap Cancel this order and then Yes to confirm cancel
Note: To modify a pending limit or stop market order, follow these instructions.
Cancellation details
- Fractional orders: You have up until one hour before market close to cancel your order.
- No-cancel window: U.S. stock exchanges have a "no-cancel window." This means that if you try to cancel an order very close to the market open, the cancellation may not be processed in time. Your order might be filled immediately when the market opens. You can find more details about specific no-cancel windows on the individual exchange websites.
- Partially filled orders: Orders may appear as "Partially filled" if only a portion of the order has been bought or sold on the market. You can only cancel the unfilled portion of a partially filled order.
