Overview

A trusted place is a location, like your home, that you designate as safe for banking. When you access your Wealthsimple profile from a trusted place, you won't need to enter verification codes for certain actions. When you're not in a trusted place, we'll prompt you to verify yourself for extra security when performing sensitive actions.

This feature gives you more control over your account security. It reduces friction when banking from a familiar location, while maintaining security when you access your profile from unfamiliar places.

How to set up a trusted place

You can set up a maximum of 3 trusted places through your security settings in the Wealthsimple app or when prompted during a verification step.

Follow these steps to set up your trusted place:

1. Log in to the Wealthsimple app
2. Tap the profile icon in the top right corner
3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner
4. Tap Login and security
5. Tap Trusted places
6. Tap Get started or tap the plus icon (+) in the top right corner
7. Allow Wealthsimple to use your location when prompted
8. Review your trusted place details
9. Follow the prompts to finish setting up your trusted place

Known limitations

• App exclusive: This feature is currently only available on the Wealthsimple app.
• Location accuracy: GPS accuracy may vary due to factors such as building materials, floor level, weather, or device. Tap Type an address in the setup flow to search and pick your address instead.
