Overview
You can request a physical prepaid Mastercard to use for in-person purchases. Your physical and virtual cards are linked to your spendable chequing account.
Keep in mind that you can instantly use your virtual card by adding it to your phone wallet while you wait for your physical card. You can also use your virtual card number to make purchases online.
How to request a physical card
To request a physical prepaid Mastercard, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- From the Home tab, select your primary Chequing account
- Tap the card icon at the top-right of your screen
Note: If you don't see the card icon, please check your other chequing accounts. If none of them have a card icon, please open a new individual chequing account. This one will be attached to your prepaid Mastercard. - Follow the prompts on-screen to request your physical prepaid Mastercard
You can expect to receive your physical prepaid Mastercard within 7-10 business days. Once you receive your physical prepaid Mastercard in the mail, you will need to activate it by following these steps.

I lost my card. How can I get a replacement?
If you lost your card, first make sure to lock your card in-app. Then contact our Client Success team to request a replacement card, and we'll give you a hand.
Can I get a Wealthsimple prepaid Mastercard for my joint chequing account?
You will need to open an individual chequing account in order to request a prepaid Mastercard, and then you can switch your card to spend from your joint chequing account.
