You may notice watermarks on your tax return PDF from Wealthsimple Tax. Here's what they mean:
-
DUPLICATE watermark:
- Applied to all NETFILE-submitted returns
- Indicates a valid copy of your submitted return
- Prevents accidental mailing of a duplicate return
- Does not impact your return as filed
-
AMENDED watermark:
- Appears if changes were made after initial submission
- May occur due to:
- Changes to your return after submission
- Changes to a linked partner's return
- Submitting your spouse's return after yours
- Does not impact your return as filed
If you see an "AMENDED" watermark:
- Go to the Submit section in your Wealthsimple Tax profile
- Click the Show differences button
- Review any changes since your initial submission
Important notes:
- Both watermarks are applied based on CRA requirements
- Watermarks do not affect the validity of your submitted return
- Watermarks cannot be removed
If changes are needed after submission:
- You can update your return using ReFILE
- Ensure you understand the differences before resubmitting
Remember:
- Save PDFs and keep copies of all versions of your tax return
- If you're unsure about changes, review your CRA My Account for the most up-to-date information
