Overview
Adding your virtual Visa card or prepaid Mastercard to your phone's wallet lets you use your phone as a tap-to-pay payment method at payment terminals.
This applies to the following Wealthsimple cards:
- Visa Infinite* credit card
- Visa Infinite+* credit card
- Visa Infinite Privilege* credit card
- Wealthsimple Visa Business* prepaid card
- Wealthsimple Visa Platinum* prepaid card
- Kids and Teens Visa* prepaid card
- Prepaid Mastercard
If you have multiple personal and joint chequing accounts
You can spend from the chequing account connected to your prepaid card. This account has a card icon in the top right corner of the account screen in the Wealthsimple app (or Card details on the web).
- Your Visa Platinum prepaid card is connected to the chequing account your requested the card from. You can’t change which account it’s connected to, but you can request a prepaid card for other chequing accounts you wish to spend from with a physical card.
- You’re issued a single prepaid Mastercard and you can switch which account you can spend from with that card.
