Overview
Though you can't cancel e-Transfers sent with auto-deposit, you can cancel pending and scheduled e-Transfers under certain conditions:
- You can cancel a pending e-Transfer if the recipient doesn’t have auto-deposit enabled and they haven't accepted the money yet.
- You can cancel scheduled e-Transfers until 5:30 am on the scheduled transfer date.
Cancel a pending e-Transfer
To cancel a pending e-Transfer, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- Tap the Activity tab at the bottom of your screen
- Select the e-Transfer under your Activity
- Tap Cancel to cancel the pending e-Transfer
- Log in to your Wealthsimple account
- Select the Activity tab at the top of the page
- Select the e-Transfer under your Activity
- Tap Cancel to cancel the pending e-Transfer
Note: Your e-Transfer will be cancelled immediately, and its status will update to Cancelled shortly after. When an e-Transfer is Cancelled or Expired we automatically update your balance to reflect the return of these funds. You won't see any reversals in your account activity.
You may also receive an email from Interac asking you to reclaim your funds after cancelling an e-Transfer. You can safely ignore this email because we will already update your balance with the returned funds.
Cancel a scheduled e-Transfer
Follow these steps to cancel a scheduled e-Transfer:
- Log in to your Wealthsimple mobile app
- Tap the Activity tab at the bottom of your screen
- Tap Scheduled activities at the top of your screen
- Select the e-Transfer you wish to cancel
- Tap Cancel to cancel the e-Transfer
- Log in to your Wealthsimple account
- Select the Activity tab at the top of your screen
- Select Scheduled activities at the top of your screen
- Select the e-Transfer you wish to cancel
- Select Cancel to cancel the e-Transfer
Note: You can cancel your e-Transfer until 5:30 am EST on the scheduled date. After this time, we can't cancel e-Transfer transactions.
