If you've encountered NETFILE Error 95365 while submitting your tax return, here's what you need to know:
Understanding the Error
NETFILE Error 95365 is a technical issue occurring during submission to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). This error affects all tax filing software platforms, not just Wealthsimple Tax.
Current Status
The CRA has implemented changes to reduce instances of NETFILE Error 95365. This error was primarily occurring due to rounding issues that caused the sum of lines 17599 and 17600 to be greater than line 68140.
While these adjustments should significantly reduce the occurrence of this error, we're continuing to monitor the situation closely.
What You Can Do
If you previously encountered NETFILE Error 95365:
-
Attempt Submission: Try submitting your return again through NETFILE. Most should now be able to submit without encountering this error.
-
If Error Persists: In the unlikely event that you still experience NETFILE Error 95365, you can try the following:
For all T3 slips in your return:- Remove the amount from Box 52, if applicable (leave it blank)
- Enter the sum of Box 52 + Box 53 in Box 53
- Ensure Box 53 equals the amount in Box 21 (you'll see a validation to verify this)
- Try submitting via NETFILE once
- If the error persists, try rounding the box amounts (21 and 53) to the nearest dollar and submit via NETFILE once more
Important notes: - Only attempt each submission once to avoid locking your NETFILE account
- If you've already made several attempts, you may want to avoid further submissions
- This workaround may not help if you have T5008 slips reporting a capital loss
- Print and Mail: You can print and mail your return to the CRA.
Avoiding NETFILE Account Lock
Multiple submission attempts while this error persists may result in your NETFILE account being locked. If this happens, contact the CRA directly to have it unlocked.
Stay Informed
We'll continue to monitor the situation and update this article if we receive any official updates from the CRA or observe any significant changes.
The accuracy of your return has not been affected by this error.
We appreciate your patience throughout this process and thank you for choosing Wealthsimple Tax for your tax filing needs.
