Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Contact the CRA's general enquiries line at 1-800-959-8281
- Inform the agent that your NETFILE account is locked (not your CRA My Account)
- Ask them to unlock your NETFILE account specifically
- Provide information:
- Tell the agent you received the message that your NETFILE account was locked
- Mention the CRA NETFILE result code 15
- Have your personal information ready for verification
- After unlocking:
- If the CRA agent successfully unlocks your account, contact Wealthsimple support
- Provide the specific NETFILE error you encountered before your NETFILE account was locked
- We'll help you resolve the issue before you attempt to submit again
Important notes:
- Only the CRA can unlock your NETFILE account
- Wealthsimple Tax cannot assist with unlocking your account as we don't have access to CRA systems
- This lock prevents you from using any NETFILE software until resolved
- Be patient, as CRA wait times can be long, especially during tax season
If you can't get your NETFILE account unlocked:
- Print and mail your tax return to the CRA, especially if the filing deadline is approaching
- Remember, a mailed return may take longer to process, but it ensures your return is filed on time
Remember:
- The CRA considers a paper return filed on time if it's postmarked on or before the filing deadline
- Keep a copy of your completed return and proof of mailing for your records
